what melts
Once upon a time there lived a king. The king had a beautiful daughter, the PRINCESS. But there was a problem. Everything the princess touched would melt. No matter what; metal, wood, stone, anything she touched would melt. Because of this, men were afraid of her. Nobody would dare arry her. The king despaired. What could he do to help his daughter? He consulted his wizards and magicians. One wizard told the king, If your daughter touches one thing that does not melt in her hands, she will be cured." The king was overjoyed and came up with a plan. he next day, he held a competition. Any man that could ring his daughter an object that would not melt would arry her and inherit the king's wealth. THREE YOUNG PRINCES TOOK UP THE CHALLENGE. The first brought a sword of the finest steel. But alas, when the princess touched it, it melted. The prince went away sadly . The second prince brought diamonds. He thought diamonds are the hardest substance in the world nd would not melt. But alas, once the princess touched them, they melted. He too was sent away disappointed. The third prince approached. He told the princess, "Put your hand in my pocket and feel what is in there." The princess did as she was told, though she turned red . She felt something hard. She held it in her hand. And it did not melt!!! The king was overjoyed. Everybody in the kingdom was erjoyed. And the third prince married the princess and they both lived happily ever after. Question: What was in the prince's pants? (Scroll down for the answer) M&M's of course. the aging syndrome anecdote
just this friday, my officemates and clients, was having a chit chat after the final video production viewing. and of all the things that can be talked about... they have to start with the "coming of age".
my officemate is really freaking out with the fact that she will be turning 30 this year. and she was really having a dillema of sorts. in which, those who have already passed that age, gave her reassuring efforts about going at that stage. reminds me... when my cousins got to that age of 27, they all have it planned out that at that age, having a family is goal to be met. and seriously they did. it also reminded me about my friends who were so into the "we're-turning-twenty-four-so-start-planning-for-a-wedding" kind of mode. interesting discussion right?...
age. we do really count them like some sort of beads being tied to a string.
hmm... i always believed that maturity is what counts most. not the years that you have lived. it is just how we measure our lifespan enough to make everyone go loco over their own vanity. haha so how about you? any dillemas at getting yourself a year older?

pero siguraduhin mong mas mahal mo siya sakin. Pwede
mo kong iwan pero siguraduhin mong kaya mo. Kasi pag
ako sobrang nasaktan, wala ka nang babalikan.

Enter the "...BER" month
haaay... September na! umpisa na naman ng mga "...ber" months. meaning september, october, november...and december (Pasko na! yey! Christmas time!) ehem... easy...september pa lang. as in! it really sinks in at this time of the year na each and everyday e there is certain plague of uncertainty just knocking at your door. kanina lang, yung isa kong opisinameyt, so early in the morning, could you imagine Jose Mari Chan (the award-winning composer of sentimental love songs and christmas tunes...yes. he is the one) greeted her on her way to the office, with no less than a... christmas song. funny snippet. well... i'll just save my thoughts for the year in general at the end of this year (at the start of the new year).
in the words of mitch albom: "every end is the beginning, we just don't know it at that time..." (or something to that effect if i didn't put the exact words...my bad. please forgive the gagongbata hehe)
as august ends and september begins... some doors will close and some will open...there are those who will say goodbye and those who will be left behind...some will march on, while some will just decide that "that's all folks!"

the last week of august and dear old body of mine suddenly cough and gagged under the weight of all the angst, stress, booze, food tripping, lack of sleep and over-sleeping, angst, stress, booze, food tripping, lack of sleep and over-sleeping, and other stuffs that has nothing to do with work (i think...hmmm) hey! superman is on the tv, again! (i don't know if it is the 4th or 5th installment though, but it's christopher reeves<-- oo, yung orig!) FOR 3 DAYS!!!! could you believe?! nakakaloka na ang nakahiga ka palagi sa kama at ang pwede mo lang gawin is to sleep, drink medicine (3 times a day), eat, sleep, drink medicine (3 times a day), eat... routinary. okay sana yung bakasyon for three days kung hindi lang sa pag-inom ng gamot. medicines are bad in my mouth (eeeewwww.... hehe) but i don't have a choice. i have to. it's either, i drink my medicine or suffer. anyway, i'm happy, kase nakakainom na ako ng gamot in tablet form (aside from neo-aspilet) wehehehe

haaay... September na! umpisa na naman ng mga "...ber" months. meaning september, october, november...and december (Pasko na! yey! Christmas time!) ehem... easy...september pa lang. as in! it really sinks in at this time of the year na each and everyday e there is certain plague of uncertainty just knocking at your door. kanina lang, yung isa kong opisinameyt, so early in the morning, could you imagine Jose Mari Chan (the award-winning composer of sentimental love songs and christmas tunes...yes. he is the one) greeted her on her way to the office, with no less than a... christmas song. funny snippet. well... i'll just save my thoughts for the year in general at the end of this year (at the start of the new year).
in the words of mitch albom: "every end is the beginning, we just don't know it at that time..." (or something to that effect if i didn't put the exact words...my bad. please forgive the gagongbata hehe)

okay fine. nandun na sa mga financial matters ang usapan. e paano naman... tangina! hindi pala kami nagtatrabaho!!!!! wala palang kwenta ang halos 24/7 na pag-uuntog ng ulo para makapaglabas ng magandang konsepto na hindi naman kayang ipa-approve at depensahan. tapos ang gaganda ng mga kliyente... pero baket feeling ng mga nakatataas ay wala silang kliyente. "sunod na lang, dahil kikita naman tayo." e pucha! fuckers naman pala itong mga hinayupak na mga "bosing" na ito.... kase ni isang kusing wala ka man lamang naramdaman na "kinita" daw. may mga dumadaing na nga na wala silang mapangpa-aral ng mga anak nila. at yung simpleng konsuwelo de bobo hindi man lamang maibigay (na pinagpaguran ng mga tao...kaya nga it is a wonder where'd it all go? nasaan yung sinasabi nilang kita?!). pero ang mga sasakyan e kay gagara (hindi na nga raw magkasya sa garahe e). bayad daw namin itong mga sasakyan na ito. at binabayaran lang namin sila para maupo at mag-smile at um-oo. binabayaran din yata namin yung mga drayber nila na nakatambay lang sa opisina? wish lang nahihiram namin yung mga sasakyan nila't nagpapdrayb pag may pupuntahan here, there. everywhere, at any time ahahaha tangina di ba?! people first! then the product. sadly, in reality, everything pretty much goes the other way around.
kung ganito ang takbo ng isang private company...how much more ang mga political leaders ng isang bansa?!

hmmm...maybe i am in the mood to rant bwahahaha
since SONA naman at uso ang mga rally, bagaman binabagyo ang kalakhang maynila, parang trip ko rin maging terorista.
current ym status: "wala daw nagtatrabaho dito, kaya wala (salary) adjustments!"
current ym status ng opisina mate: "increase pala ha...eto ang bagong boss para sa inyo"
from another opisina mate: "kung ang increase ilo-loan, kanino ipapatong ang interes non?..."
ang sagot: "wala na daw bonus kase ipambabayad sa interes hehehe"

[ the itinerary ]
24.june.2006 famy, laguna hike minor climb (if you can call it a minor climb... talk about battling a very wet weather while climbing the steep, muddy, rocky, shit-full slopes ... plants! plants! and more plants and trees... cliff of which some... are barbed wired, while some... guess where it will end? bwahaha) more importantly, it's a night hike :) exciting! hehe

at dahil pasaway ang gagong bata na palaboy (na tulad ko...) lahat yata ng bawal gawin when you'll gonna going on an hiking expedition nagawa ko. but anyway, these are, in my intrepid mind, the most important things you should consider to bring along and must-haves when hiking (though bringing an alcoholic beverage depends i think... half of my mind says we should've brought one along, half of it thought... buti na lang!*):
*i have to consider the weather on this thought and the terrain... 1) bring a mountaineering or hiking bag... it's much bigger and can well adapt itself to whatever conditions you're gonna be in aside from being compact. (whatever! i brought my backpack instead...it's more like a small school bag in the eyes of everyone... i think) 2) it's a common knowledge for any mountaineer or hiker to wear proper lightweight attire--- and i didn't (i'm comfortable wearing jeans...so why can't i? hehe) and hiking shoes anyone?!...nah! i wore my trusty and dependable chucks (pic at the bottom) that i usually wear every damn day (hehe this is the limited edition folks!...sure it didn't help at getting me to avoid splashing around in muddy ground... but its the best sneakers that i've ever put into such a gruelling test) 3)be in the company of friends... kasi it is much fun doing these activities with the people you're pretty much comfortable with ---- this is what i like most! 4)have a guide --- we have the best!
by the way, there are only three of us who dared to climb the mountain, challenged the weather, and hike all the way to the camp at night!
